  • RUN KIM RUN!!!

    l_45e76372e04ef9f0e1a5a60d0da44c08

    kim, my best friend!!
Several years ago, my best friend walked 60 miles in 3 Days to raise donations to help find a cure for breast cancer. Well, she figured that wasn't enough so this year she has decided to run a marathon. Yes that's right, Kim Willingham is going to be running. It's definately something you want to share with all of your friends and even aquantances. This time it is as a part of the Team In Training program for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

She is hoping you will want to share the fundraising goal with her and if you can come up with any addtional creative ways to help she will be extrememly greatful. Some ideas that others have shared are asking 10 of your friends to donate or better yet send her letter to every one in your address book and asked them to do the same, check on accessing matching funds at work. Will you join her in raising Five Thousand Dollars? Every donation makes a difference. She would be extremely honored to have you share this goal.

Please use the link below to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about her progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and she will be notified as soon as you make your donation.

CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION

and dont forget to check back often for updates on her progress.....

    just a little info ....
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, LLS has invested more than $600 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.

P.S. I would appreciate it if you would forward this email to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well. Thanks again.

  • SWEET DREAMS UGA!!!

UGA VI DIED FRIDAY FROM CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE...

Uga VI, who was only one year old at the time of his coronation, was the biggest of all the mascots weighing in at 65 pounds – more than 20 pounds heavier than his father – and like his forefathers was a solid white English bulldog. His registered name was "Uga V's Whatchagot Loran?" – a reference to the famous question of Georgia radio play-by-play announcer Larry Munson when communicating with sideline reporter Loran Smith.

    0_21_uga_350

University officials said the football team also had the winningest record under his nearly 10-year tenure at 87-27. Uga was known for stalking the sidelines in a shirt with a 'G' on it. During hot football games, Uga would sometimes take a break on a bag of ice.

    ncf_g_uga_400

Since 1956, the University of Georgia's live mascot has come from a line of solid-white English bulldogs named Uga, each owned by Sonny and Cecelia Seiler of Savannah.

Here is a closer look at each Uga (with tenure and records):

    Uga I (1956-66, 53-48-6)

The dog who started it all, this Uga was a belated wedding gift to the Seilers from one of Cecelia's friends. He was there when Theron Sapp "broke the drought" against Georgia Tech and was around for three coaches (Wally Butts, Johnny Griffith and Vince Dooley) and one SEC title (1959). He retired
Oct. 22, 1966 and died 18 days later.

    Uga II (1966-72, 42-16-3)

He was the first Uga to occupy the "fireplug" abode on the Georgia sidelines. By finishing the 1966 season for his father, he was around for Dooley's first SEC championship (and two years later for Dooley's second). After the 1966 season, he participated in the Cotton Bowl parade in Dallas.

    Uga III (1972-81, 71-32-2)

His tenure included the 1980 national championship season and the introduction of Herschel Walker into Bulldogs lore. Georgia won two SEC titles (1976, 1980) during his reign, and Uga III retired in a ceremony before the 1981 season opener as the winningest Uga.

    Uga IV (1981-90, 77-27-4)

His résumé included SEC titles in 1981 and '82 and a visit to the Downtown Athletic Club in New York (wearing a formal collar and black tie) to witness Walker receive the Heisman Trophy, the first mascot invited to the Heisman banquet. Also, he was there for Dooley's last game and Ray Goff's first.

    Uga V (1990-99, 65-39-1)

During his tenure, Georgia's "Uga" mascot became a national phenomenon. During a game in 1996, he leaped at Auburn receiver Robert Baker on the sideline, seemingly trying to bite the player after he had startled the dog. The next year, Uga V appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, was "interviewed" by National Public Radio and appeared in the film "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," which featured Kevin Spacey and John Cusack.

    Uga VI (1999-2008, 87-27)

With the success of Mark Richt, this Uga's 87 victories easily surpassed Uga IV in the record book. He was around for three appearances in the SEC championship game, including victories in 2002 and 2005, and for Georgia's No. 2 finish in the AP poll in 2007. He was present for the transition from Jim Donnan to Richt in 2000.

    Otto - Record: 3-1 (1986)

Career highlights: Filled in while his injured brother, Uga IV, recovered from knee surgery for four games, including 20-16 win over nationally ranked Auburn engineered by backup quarterback Wayne Johnson.  Uga VI became UGA's mascot in 1999.

He was the son of Uga V, the only college mascot to land on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Uga will be buried in a vault in the Southwest corner of Sanford Stadium with his predecessors. Private ceremonies are expected early next week.

  • OH HOW I LOVE THE STARS AND PLANETS

I HAVE BEEN LOVING THE PAST SEVERAL NIGHTS!!

WE HAVE BEEN GETTING THE TELESCOPE OUT LOOKING UP.

WE FOUND SATURN MOST OF THE TIME, BUT MARS
IS SUPPOSED TO BE VISIBLE.  SO LAST NIGHT,
GOT OUT AND STARTED LOOKING AROUND AND
LOW AND BEHOLD, THERE WAS THE MOON,
AND RIGHT NEXT TO IT WAS MARS!!!
    REALLY REALLY COOL VISION!!!

    IMG_0287
SATURN TAKEN SEVERAL MONTHS BACK, YOU CAN
BARELY SEE THE RINGS, BUT THEY ARE THERE.

WENT AND GOT THE TELESCOPE AND I SWEAR,
BEFORE WE COULD GET IT SETUP AND FIND
MARS, THEY HAD BOTH SUNK BELOW THE TREE LINE....
    ARGH!!!

TO SAY THE LEAST, TONIGHT, WE WILL BE
GETTING OUT THERE MUCH EARLIER SO WE
CAN GET A GLIMPSE AT THAT AWESOME PLANET.

I ALSO SAW JUPITER IN THE OPPOSITE SKY,
BUT COULD ONLY SEE IT FROM MY ROOM WHICH
IS THIRD STORY WINDOW, WENT DOWN TO
THE PORCH AND IT WAS BEHIND TREES, SO THE
ONLY WAY WE HAVE A CHANCE OF SEEING IT
RIGHT NOW IS TO WAIT TILL ABOUT 3 OR 4 IN
THE MORNING...WAYYYY TOOO LATE FOR ME.

ANYWAY, WAS AWESOME SEEING WHAT WE
HAVE THUS FAR, LOOKING AT THE BIG DIPPER
AND SUCH!!!! WHAT A AWESOMELY HUGELY
