Internet Island Topic Post #22.00: Our Internet "World"
We'll start at the beginning of your "stay" on the "internet world".
22.03. The Blogoshpere (Your "home away from home")
You're not only here on the web, you're here on good ol' Xanga. Did you know what you were doing when you signed up with Xanga and wrote your first blog entry? I don't want to know "why you blog" now, after you've done it for a while. Each of us blogs for different reasons, and through the comments feature, we can talk to each other, and sometimes see "communities". The "Internet Island" is such a 'communit'. What I want to know is what you thought when you first signed up and took your first babysteps through Xanga. Was there a plan? Did you go exploring? What prompted your own first comment.
STASH WAS THE REASON FOR ME JOINING XANGA..... SHE HAD A XANGA AND I WOULD GO AND READ HER STUFF AND LITTLE BY LITTLE BECAME INTERESTED IN DOING THIS MYSELF.
I WAS VERY SHY ABOUT IT THOUGH. MAINLY IT WAS ME AND HER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH EACH OTHER FOR MONTHS. I VENTED, I SHARED, AND I WAS JUST VERY SHY ABOUT IT. I NEVER VENTURED OUT. EVENTUALLY MARSHALL_MATTIE STARTED COMING OVER AND BECAME A PART OF MY LITTLE BLOG. I STARTED DOING A DAYS OF OUR LIVES UPDATE EVERYDAY. THEN RI_RA CAME AND VISITED ME ABOUT A MONTH INTO MY LIFE ON XANGA, SO SHE WAS MY THIRD FRIEND ON HERE. THEN HERE CAME BUFFY ABOUT A MONTH AFTER THAT. MAN GETTING FRIENDS ON HERE WAS VERY HARD...HAHAHA!!!
FINALLY, IN NOVEMBER OF 2004, I DECIDED THAT IF I WANTED TO MAKE FRIENDS ON HERE, I WAS JUST GOING TO HAVE TO GO TO THEM. THAT IS WHERE MY MIRACULOUS CHANGE ON XANGA OCCURED...... I WENT TO ALL OF MY FOUR FRIEND'S FRIENDS AND THEN JUST KEPT GOING, VISITING MORE AND MORE SITES AND LEAVING MORE AND MORE COMMENTS. I MET SO MANY OF YOU DURING THAT TIME. BOGDANA, ACE38, CNDFRND, PRADA_FREAK, TORONTOGIRL, AND KOFFEEKWEEN. IT JUST STARTED GROWING FROM THERE. SO BASICALLY IT TOOK ME FROM JULY OF 2004 TO NOVEMBER OF 2004 TO FIGURE OUT THAT IF I WANTED FRIENDS, THEY WERE NOT GOING TO COME TO ME, BUT I HAD TO GO TO THEM.
I THEN FELT THAT I GOT A BIT MORE CREATIVE IN MY BLOGS, I STOPPED JUST VENTING AND STARTED TALKING ABOUT THINGS THAT WERE SOMETIMES INTERESTING, NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, AND STARTED POSTING MORE PICTURES AND GETTING CREATIVE WITH MY PAGES.
I MET ANONOMOUS BABBLING GIRL, WHO BECAME MY STALKER IN CRIME...HAHAHA!!! SHE KNOWS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. SHE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST ONES I STARTED TALKING TO ONLINE, THEN TALKING ON THE PHONE.
ANYWAY, I AM SORRY IF I DIDNT MENTION EVERYONE ON HERE, BUT I COULD KEEP GOING ALL DAY LONG AND WE WOULD BE HERE FOREVER. THERE ARE SO MANY OF YOU THAT I MET BACK THEN THAT I STILL VISIT TO THIS DAY. WELL THAT IS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE ON HERE AND I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH MY ACTUAL FIRST POST!!! TRY NOT TO LAUGH TOO HARD!!!

This is where I speak my mind to all the stupid doctors who cannot speak ENGLISH and make me get a massive migraine that will NOT go away. I HATE MY JOB LATELY!!!!!!!! I am so sick of listening to people that have a higher education than me and make more money than me that DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPEAK THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!!!! The can learn how to cut a person open and fix something but to learn ENGLISH!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! THAT IS A BIG FAT JOKE!!!!
well now that today is over, may tomorrow be a much much better day.

I have to say xanga has been a better experience than classmates ever was!
I remember when you would post about not liking work and we really do end up with a diary on www don't we?

Oh I love this topic and it was fun to read your xanga journey!
I certainly just started this blog as both a chance to a vent and for...hehe..revenge. I honestly didn't really even figure out how to explore until a couple months in. I was just too caught up in writing and I essentially made this blog about myself, which it still is for the most part. Through 2005 was really my peak where I met lots of people and left lots of comments, but I have since slowed down and kinda gone indie again. as I said, its still for me, and somewhere along the way I kinda lost sight of that. So I still enjoy people reading me, but the whole WORLD of xanga is kinda dead to me. Xanga itself is kinda dying, as everyone is clearly defecting to other sites. But oh well, I'll keep going.
